About Rori
Continuing a Legacy of Service in Atlanta
Miss Rori Ellison is a 16-year-old junior and an FPSE Intern. She attends Maynard Jackson High School, where she serves as the school's podcast host. Rori takes a full course load of Honors and AP courses and is also enrolled at Atlanta Metropolitan State College through dual enrollment. Before joining the Maynard Jackson High Jaguar family, Rori was captain of both the volleyball and dance teams. Now, she focuses not just on attending Maynard but also on being an active Jaguar involved in her school and community.
Rori is a proud APS legacy. Her grandmother is a retired principal in Atlanta Public Schools, known for her leadership at Grove Park Elementary School (now Atlanta Virtual Academy). Her mother is a current educator in APS and a graduate of Mays High School, Class of 1995. Her grandfather served Atlanta as a police officer for over 45 years. Her uncle, another APS alum, graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 2002—making Rori a true third-generation Atlien.
With deep roots in Atlanta and a passion for healthcare, Rori aspires to become either an anesthesiologist or a nurse practitioner. She plans to carry on her family’s legacy by attending an HBCU, majoring in pre-med with a minor in psychology. For Rori, Atlanta isn’t just a city; it’s where her story began and where her future takes root.
