The FPSE Run Buds is the official run club of the Georgia Federation of Public Service Employees. They are a group of members who come together socially and recreationally to walk, run, and train together. The times, locations, and skill levels vary; the focus is on supporting one another to improve at their own pace and on their own time. The FPSE Run Buds set their own run schedules, meetup times, and locations. You might see the FPSE Run Buds on the Beltline, Piedmont Park, Cochran Shoals Trail, or even on a school campus; the location is less important. What matters is that we come together to motivate and support one another.
Over the years, FPSE Run Buds have raised thousands of dollars through their "5k Walk/Run for Education" event. Dunbar, Kimberly Usher, Thomasville, Benteen Elementary, among many others, have all benefited from FPSE Run Buds' efforts.
The FPSE Run Buds commit to participating together in four organized 5K's each year. Some may run more, but we don't compete; we run our own race. The Run Buds also serve as the host committee for planning the annual "FPSE 5K Run for Education". This year's 5K Run for Education will take place in October at Martin Luther King Middle School. FPSE will sponsor the event, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.
If you'd like to join us or learn more about the FPSE Run Buds, email Mrs. Maudray Giles. Don't procrastinate—make a run for it!
